So for real maybe I am getting a tattoo?

I finally decided to stop talking about getting a tattoo and actually figure out what I wanted. Eventually I settled on a octopus. And if you need to ask why I would get an octopus I will question how well you know me.
Anyway, I got in touch with Erika Moen because I knew she did tattoo commissions, liked cephalopods, and had a style I liked. Here are the results.
First we talked about what I wanted (basic octopus for the shoulder, more cartoonish that realistic). That got me the following sketches.

I liked number 4 the best, but wanted the frills taken off and the head bigger, like that of number 1. That lead to a slight miscommunication, as I ended up with the actual head of number 1.

But that was quickly resolved and we ended up with this attractive fellow.

I got a look at it with slightly different eyes, but didn't care for them, so that ended up with the virtually final piece below.

I think I know where I'm going to take this to have it done (that being the one place that absolutely EVERYONE recommends in Seattle), as soon as I have the nerve to. I'll probably get it colored in a nice blue-purple as well.
The process of commissioning the piece and getting revisions made was really easy, both because Erika does this stuff professionally and is very structured and because I deal with artists/designers at work and ask for the same things. I almost feel bad that I didn't have more feedback, but for the most part I fell in love with the sketch and didn't want it to change too much.
