So, this morning I took Ed to see his usual vet. The end result is that while we're not sure what exactly caused Ed's bleeding, it appears to have been local to his nose and probably the result of an eroded blood vessel or something like that. Aside from leaving him (and our carpet) a bloody mess there is no long term effect.

I'm calling tomorrow to see if the ultrasounds from the ER have arrived so the regular vet can evaluate the mass in Ed's chest that the ER thinks is probably fat. And I need to call the ER and let them know now that the regular vet is available I won't be taking Ed in for a follow up. I appreciate they want to make sure he's doing ok, but if they have questions they can check with Dr Joe.

Thank you for following along for another exciting adventure of the medical mystery cat.

Phew! An eroded blood vessel sounds much better than the other possibilities. Yay!!!

It SERIOUSLY looked like a crime scene in here. I can't IMAGINE how much cleaning [personal profile] rosabel and Andy had done before i got here, because, holy shit, the curtains, the bookshelves upstairs, MY GOD, EDWARD.

Oh, and OF COURSE the UW Libraries copy of "Baba Yaga..." does NOT have the heavy-duty library plastic cover. The Seattle Public Library copy that i had for 4 weeks did. The UW copy i got because i can keep it longer than the SPL copy?? RAW BOOK BOARD COVER. [facepalm]

Thank goodness for no long term effects. Kitty medical mysteries are never fun.

Edward's been one medical mystery after the other since he was 2-1/2. Andy said the ER vet staff seemed slightly put out with him for being so blase about everything, for NOT getting properly worked up. But, honestly, at this point we EXPECT the unexpected. "Oh, fat deposits in his lungs, you say? TALK TO THE HAND. This is nothing like that time his white blood cells were (a) very low count and (b) extremely juvenile because they were being MADE BY HIS LIVER." Good times, good times.
