Introductions
Jun. 14th, 2010 12:14 amSince i'm being read by people I only meet at WisCon I thought I'd give some sort of proper introductory post. Otherwise I'm just going to be known as raanve's wingman at parties.
I'm a white male cis hetro USian. I'm from San Diego, live in Seattle, and have a nonsensical bias against all of the country to the east of the Rockies.
I'm married to wrdnrd. I room at WisCon with wrdnrd, raanve, littlebutfierce, and phredd. Yes it's crowded. No, they never let me crank the AC to my required subzero temp. Cabell's karaoke usually coincides with my birthday. Between that and the fact I refuse to sing I rarely pay for a drink all night. You are welcome to contribute to the cause next year.
We have three cats. They are all assholes in their own special way. We have three scooters: a Bajaj Chetak (mine), a Vespa PX150 (wrdnrd's), and a Genuine Stella w/ cozy Rocket sidecar. Sometimes I even manage to keep them in working order. (wrdnrd edits: I take care of my own!!! RAWR!)
I play video games, tabletop rpgs, & tcgs. I watch Doctor Who, anime, westerns, and fanvids. I regularly reread Dashiell Hammett and Alexandre Dumas. I have a thing for pretty boys in media (see Link icon above) but not in real life.
I am writing a Doctor Who fic. It will solve problems and make wrdnrd very happy. I should point out my record for finishing fiction is quite poor.
I am a horrible pedant. I am terribly arrogant: 25% is to cover impostor symdrome, 25% because I find it funny, 50% because I believe I'm that awesome. My constant smirking gives it all away.
I get crushes on almost everyone at some point. Let me know if my following you around like a puppy dog annoys you. (wrdnrd: It does! Stop it!! We live in the same apartment and i know where you are at all times!!!)
I drink, sometimes too much. I can absorb a tremendous amount of red wine. I am a damn fine cook. I'm an omnivore who is working on a zine called “Quit your bitching: if I can cook vegan so can you.”
I go to WisCon mainly to see friends, party, and because it's a better atmosphere than any other con I've been to. No other convention has been as welcoming. I usually have blue hair and the aforementioned smirk.
